Laboratory and X-ray services
Sample collection is primarily performed by appointment; customers without appointment are served in the order of registration.
Do not eat or drink before coming for laboratory tests.
Patients referred to laboratory tests by a private doctor:
By decision of the Social Protection Committee, the selling of laboratory services to private operators has been discontinued as of 1 January 2016.
Blood tests will no longer be taken at the laboratory of Kalajoki Health Centre with a referral from a private doctor.
The decision also applies to the laboratories of Merijärvi and Himanka Health Stations.
In addition to X-ray examinations, we also perform electrocardiograms, and the radiology specialist comes to perform ultrasound examinations twice a month. A doctor’s referral is required for all examinations, and examinations are only available by appointment. Only urgent examinations of emergency patients are performed without appointment. Appointments can be made during the opening hours of the X-ray services, tel. 044 4691 516.
Our X-ray services are part of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District’s shared registry, which makes it possible for the results from X-ray examinations to also be looked at in other facilities belonging to the hospital district, as necessary. We perform the most common X-ray examinations with a referral from a private doctor, and the customer is charged a fee in accordance with the current price list.
Appointments can be made during the opening hours of the X-ray services, tel. 044 4691 516.
