Kalajoki provides companies establishing themselves in the region with competitive facilities and services only a 25-minute drive away from the nuclear power plant in Hanhikivenniemi in Pyhäjoki. Kalajoki is situated at the intersection of highways 8 and 27, an easily accessible location that is also situated next to an abnormal road transport corridor. The deep-water Port of Kalajoki provides good opportunities for various types of import and export operations. Kalajoki Airport is located at the centre of the tourist resort. Kalajoki’s population, as well as the number of travellers to the area and the number of companies, has grown significantly over the last ten years.
