Living in Kalajoki is like a continuous holiday

The City of Kalajoki promises five-star living to its citizens. Does this mean that everyone in Kalajoki lives in a luxurious hotel setting by a swimming pool?

“Not exactly,” laughs Anne Tullila, a representative of the City of Kalajoki. “In Kalajoki, five-star living consists of small everyday luxuries. It means a comprehensive quality of life that we can offer thanks to Kalajoki’s location, housing and recreation opportunities, and municipal services.”

The Fennovoima power plant, which is currently being constructed in Pyhäjoki, has increased people’s interest towards living in Kalajoki. The town is only a 30-minute commute away from the power plant.

“When a person moves to Kalajoki, they get a short commute and, in addition to that, excellent recreation opportunities. There is no need to travel halfway across the world for your summer or winter holiday, and there is plenty to do on weekday evenings, as well,” Tullila says.

New plots by the sea

Kalajoki offers plots to those interested in building their own house and finished flats to those who wish to move to a ready-made home. You can choose to live in the centre of Kalajoki, the countryside, or by the sea.

The small seaside town has planned new, beautiful plots right by the sea and the sand dunes. The Kesäranta area currently has 100 plots where you can build holiday homes suitable for year-round use. The municipal engineering in the area will be finished during spring 2018, and plots are being sold at a rapid rate.

“Tourism and Fennovoima’s large project offer an exceptional opportunity to constructors and housing investors. First of all, the tourism area is a unique living environment for those involved in the project.
