This page provides information on the equipment available at the Main and branch libraries. The libraries provide customers with the opportunity to use computers and tablets and to print, copy and scan items. There are also game consoles available.

 

Equipment at the Main Library

The Main Library is equipped with public computers, multi-function printer for printing, copying and scanning as well as wireless internet access, tablets, a laptop and game consoles.

 

Computers

The Main Library has five public computers, one laptop for customer use and two computers for searching the library catalogue.

 

Computer usage rules

  • You can reserve a public computer by showing your library card or identification at the circulation desk. A librarian will then log in on the computer. The catalogue search computers are available for use without reservation and login.
  • Public computers can be reserved for one hour at a time.
  • Please remember to log out of the computer once your reserved time slot ends.
  • Drinking and eating is forbidden near the computers.

 

Printing, copying and scanning

The Main Library is equipped with a multi-function printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning.

Printing, copying and scanning is subject to a fee. The prices are listed in the city’s price list. The paper size of copies and printouts is A4 or A3. You can print in black and white or colour.
Scanned files can be saved to your e-mail account.

 

Tablets

The Main Library has tablets that operate on a wireless internet connection.

Tablets can be used inside the library, and customers can borrow them for one hour at a time by showing their library card.

 

Game consoles

The Main Library has three game consoles.They can be used in the library’s game room, which can be reserved for one hour at a time.

Himanka Library is equipped with public computers, multi-function printers for printing, copying and scanning as well as wireless internet access, tablets and two game consoles.

 

Computers

Himanka Library is equipped with three public computers and one computer for searching the library catalogue and one for reading electronic newspapers and magazines.

 

Computer usage rules

  • Computers 1 and 2 can be used for a half hour at a time, and computer 3 for one hour.

Playing on library computers

  • Computers can be reserved by showing your library card.
  • You can reserve up to one hour of playing time per day.
  • Only one player at a time is allowed to use the computer.
  • Making noise and yelling while playing is not allowed.

Himanka Library is equipped with a multi-function printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning.

Tablets

Himanka Library is equipped with two iPad tablets and two smaller Android tablets that operate on a wireless internet access.

The tablets can be used to play children’s games. The Android tablets are also available to adult customers as necessary.

The tablets can be used inside the library, and customers can borrow them for half an hour at a time by showing their library card. If necessary, headphones will also be provided with the tablet.

 

Game consoles

Himanka Library has two game consoles.

The Playstation 3 console can be used in the library’s game room, which can be reserved for one hour at a time.

The Nintendo 3DS XL console can be reserved for half an hour at a time by showing your library card. The age limit for using the console is 7.
