Maternity and child health services
The Kalajoki Maternity and Child Health Clinic provides maternity and child health services, birth control and family planning services and adult health care. Maternity and child health services are a key part of the preventive and health promoting operations of primary health care. The services provided by the clinic are voluntary and free of charge.
- The maternity clinic monitors the health and well-being of the mother and the foetus. Contact the clinic if you find out that you are pregnant.
- The child health clinic monitors the growth and development of children until the age of 6. The clinic provides children with vaccinations.
- The birth control and family planning services include counselling related to sexuality and relationships, birth control, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, diagnosing infertility, prevention of sexual harassment and support for sexual orientation.
- The adult health care services include health counselling, blood pressure measurement and vaccinations.
Maternity and child health clinics operated by the City of Kalajoki include the Kalajoki Maternity and Child Health Clinic and the Himanka Maternity and Child Health Clinic. The City of Kalajoki also provides the services of the Merijärvi Maternity and Child Health Clinic. The clinics can be contacted during the telephone service hour from 12 noon to 1 pm.
Interpreter services can be arranged for immigrants living in Kalajoki as necessary. The interpreter services are free of charge to the customer.
