Kalajoki Marina

Kalajoki Marina is a high-class, maritime boating and recreation centre being built in the Hiekkasärkät tourist centre. The aim is to build the most versatile, 150-seat guest marina in the Bothnian Bay area, with a target draught of at least 3 m.

The Kalajoki Marina will contribute to the awareness, growth and internationalisation of tourism along the entire Finnish coastline and strengthen the position of Hiekkasärkät as one of the most attractive maritime tourist centres in the Nordic countries. The Marina area is targeted for quality holiday homes, hotels, restaurants and new maritime activities. Modern holiday homes have already been completed and the guest marina will be completed towards the end of 2025.

Marina Resort

The spectacular Marina Resort offers scenic apartments and family apartments in an architecturally stunning building by the sea. The three alternative colour schemes of the interiors draw their colour scheme from the surrounding coastal landscape. Residents can also choose to purchase an architect-curated furniture package, thoughtfully customised to match the interior colour schemes. The Marina Resort comprises a complex of four apartment buildings, the 1st and 2nd of which were completed in 2022 and 2023 respectively, with the third section under construction and the fourth about to enter pre-marketing.

Villa Resort

The Villa Resort will be built on the plot next to the Marina Resort. The area will consist of semi-detached and townhouse apartments, all located in a prime location close to the marine nature. Kalajoki Beach & Golf Resort

The Beach & Golf Resort offers something for both the quality holiday home seeker and the holiday home investor. The apartments in the newly completed property have been designed as stunning detached houses, each with its own carport attached to the apartment with electric car charging facilities. Marinan Portin Kapteeni

Marinan Portin Kapteeni, currently under construction, offers quality accommodation in a prime location close to the sea and sandy beach. The apartments are designed so that almost all of them have a view of the sea and from the balcony, you can admire the magnificent sunsets of Kalajoki. We focus on quality and design the apartments with a focus on uncomplicated leisure. The plots in Marina

Join us in building Kalajoki Marina - the best maritime tourism centre in the Nordic countries!

A new guest marina on the mainland side will be surrounded by Dyynikylä, a high-class tourist area. The area is zoned for tourism, recreation and cultural services and commercial facilities; plots with a floor height of II½ to III and high building rights. All construction and design aim for high quality.

Plots for Marina Phase 1 are continuously available. The application for the marina plots will be announced at a later stage.

Guide to applying for a plot in Marina

Submit the following documents to the City of Kalajoki: façade drawings, site plan, yard plan, space plan and a short description of the future operation. Describe how the project will contribute to the marketing value of tourism in Kalajoki.

The plans must comply with the existing zoning and building codes. In addition, designers have the opportunity to earn points for meeting the objectives set by the city. The City of Kalajoki Steering Group will assess and score the applicants' plans. The plot will be awarded to the operator with the highest score.

When assessing the plans, the steering group will pay attention to the quality and ecology of the building materials, in addition to the issues mentioned in the scoring. After the scoring, the operators who have submitted plans will be contacted and further discussions will be arranged. Please be prepared to briefly present your future activities and the main features of the buildings.
