Library

The library provides the residents of the city with equal opportunities for education, enjoyment of literature and art, continuous development of knowledge, skills and the capability to be a contributing member of society, as well as internationalisation and lifelong learning.

You can borrow items, such as books, magazines, music, sheet music, movies and audiobooks, from the library. The library also provides customers with electronic materials. At the library, you can read magazines and use a computer, a gaming room or working spaces. The library also holds a variety of events and exhibitions.

Kalajoki City Library has two libraries and a mobile library. The Main Library is located at the centre of Kalajoki and the branch library in Himanka. In Kalajoki operates also Mobile library Kirjameri. Kalajoki city library is a part of Joki Libraries. 

Joki-libraries offer books in many languages and you can order material from other Joki-libraries free of charge. In addition to this, there are libraries specialized in foreign-language material.
